Hillgrove Goalies looking for work?
Attention Goalies!! The heart of every team!!
If there are any Hillgrove goalies out there looking for some extra reps and would like to get in cage and face some live shots in a safe environment (no crease cranks!) and get some extra training before the seasone starts please email Hillgroveyouthlacrosse@gmail.com. Coach Chris Hess will respond and provide you with the information.
We would be looking to get in a couple of sessions prior to the start of the fall season. No cost.
Hello Lacrosse Families! We hope everyone has had a wonderful, if not strange, summer. We have been relatively quiet here as we awaited the school start date and to get direction from our administration, Cobb County, and our lacrosse league. We are pleased to report that we are full steam ahead with both our Youth and High School Lacrosse programs. You can register on the website at the below link.
Space is filling up fast so please register to hold a space for your boys! We will be collecting dues over the first two weeks of practices.
The big news is our first practices will be the week of August 17. More information as to nights, times and locations will be coming as we finalize the schedule. Due to County restrictions on school facilities we will be holding practices at Tramore Park as well as the Soccer Field at McEachern United Methodist Church. It is possible (and even likely) you may practice on one field one evening and another a different night. We ask that all families be flexible as this remains an ever-changing landscape and as soon as we can return to our home field at Lovinggood we will do so.
Youth games will run from the weekend of September 12th through the weekend of November 7th. We will be changing leagues this Fall and back to the traditional designations of U9, U11, U13, and U15.
We will have the below safety protocols in place that we ask all families to assist with no matter the age of your players.
Each team will have a brief questionnaire and digital forehead thermometer check before practices and games at the fields for players. If anyone has above a threshold temperature or has been in recent contact with a Covid positive patient they will need to go home for the day.
All spectators will be asked to socially distance from one another unless a part of the same household.
Players are encouraged to come to the practices and games dressed/padded up.
No shared equipment or water among players and no communal water bottles.
We are sorry if it seems like things have been silent but we were working to bring things into focus and are excited to be able to play. We look forward to seeing everyone in just a few short weeks and GO HAWKS!!!
Hello Hawks! Reminder Fall Registration for youth will close Friday 8/14. High School will remain open until 9/1 – please read the details below.
We are opening fall registration with still a lot of uncertainty around the upcoming season. So, we are asking you to register now, but hold off on making any payments until we get confirmation of a season. Once we get confirmation that there will be a fall season, we will have a one-week window where we will ask everyone to complete their registration payment.
By registering now this will allow us to determine our coaching needs at the youth levels. Please do not wait to register as we will have capacity limits on each age group based on available coaches. We will not be able to accommodate extra players beyond our capacity once the age group is full. The past three seasons we have had players miss out on registration because they waited, and the teams filled up.
Youth Program League update:
Our boy’s youth program has made the decision to change leagues and this fall we will be leaving MAYLA and moving to Newtown Park League. Our board felt this was the best decision for the long-term development of our youth program. This means we will be moving back to U9, U11, U13 and U15 divisions based on grade level and you will see that when you go in to register.
Youth Uniforms: We will not be changing uniforms for the fall season so unless you need a replacement uniform or a new size you will not need to purchase a new uniform.
Rental equipment: If you rented equipment in the Spring 2020 season there will be no charge for rental equipment for you in the fall.
Youth Legaue credits from the shortened spring season:
Due to the cancelled spring season, provided you sold your required allotment of raffle tickets in the spring we have offered returning players a $100 credit towards a future season registration, or the option to donate the credit to our lacrosse program and we will provide a receipt for a charitable donation as we are a 501(c)(3) organization
If you were registered in the Spring and have opted for the $100 credit towards your fall dues please email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can confirm eligibility and provide you with a discount code, if you opted to donate your credit to the lacrosse program we greatly appreciate the support and we will be emailing you a receipt for your charitable donation.
Credit eligibility - To be eligible for this credit your player:
1. Must have been registered and paid for the Spring 2020 season
2. Player must have sold their $100 allotment of raffle tickets for the spring raffle.
Coach Riggins is excited to announce a big addition to the program’s coaching staff. We hope you will welcome Coach Isom White with open arms to the program. Coach White’s resume can be found below and we were lucky to retain him as he comes extremely highly recommended from multiple sources. We know Coach White will continue the legacy of an innovative offensive gameplan for the Hawks this year and we look forward to getting to know him. We are hopeful everyone will have a chance to meet and play under Coach White very soon!
